Sharon Ritchie runs for Grove City Council, Ward 5

Sharon Ritchie, a 51-year resident of Grove City, is running as a write-in candidate for Ward 5 on Grove City Council.
“Over the last several years, Grove City has been moving away from the hometown feel that we love,” she said. “I will listen to my community members and take their ideas and concerns straight to the council to seek solutions.”
A retired public health nurse, Ritchie spent more than 33 years caring for underserved residents in their homes, gaining first-hand insight into the challenges facing her community. She said she is focused on representing seniors, veterans, and residents who value traditional community principles.
Ritchie emphasized public safety and support for local police.
“I am pro-police,” she said. “Our officers put their lives on the line every day, and they deserve our respect and thanks.”
She also supports local businesses as the backbone of a strong city and economy, pledging to promote new businesses and strengthen existing ones.
She described her candidacy as a way to ensure the community’s voice is heard in city decisions and to preserve the character and values of Grove City.
“Your vote will determine the future of our great city,” Ritchie said. “Please help me preserve and save what we love and cherish here.”
Residents may recognize Ritchie from her family’s long-standing presence in Ward 5, her involvement with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, and previous work with PTA and band boosters. Her husband is locally known as “Jeff from Kroger,” where they met 38 years ago.
Ritchie has received endorsements from the Republican Central Committee and FOP Lodge #9.
