Julieann Burroughs – Grove City Council At-Large Candidate
By Rachel Scofield
Julieann Burroughs is running for Grove City Council At-Large. A Grove City resident for more than 30 years, she has raised her family here, operates a small business, and volunteered in numerous community organizations.
Burroughs has not previously held elected office but highlights her work with the Friends of Hocking Hills State Park for the past 14 years, as well as service on the board of the new Grove City Parks and Recreation Foundation.
She has also helped organize the last three Grove City Pickleball Tournaments that raise funds for Meals on Wheels through LifeCare Alliance.
She says her campaign is guided by three priorities: responsible growth and preservation, livable infrastructure and public safety, and recreation and community well-being.
“Grove City is growing quickly, and every decision we make today will shape our future,” Burroughs said. “I am committed to listening to residents, protecting what makes our community special, and ensuring we move forward in a way that benefits all families.”
Burroughs adds that her goal is to bring more transparency and accountability to city decisions.
“Correcting Grove City’s shortcomings starts with listening to residents and putting their needs first,” she said. “I propose a more transparent and accountable process for growth decisions, investing in infrastructure before approving new development, and prioritizing public safety, schools, and parks so our community keeps pace.”
She describes her candidacy as centered on the community rather than politics.
“This campaign isn’t about me — it’s about you, the residents,” Burroughs said. “I have no political ambitions beyond serving our city. My goal is simple: to listen, to serve, and to ensure that the voices of our community are always put first.”
