Vote for Grove City Police

The Grove City Police Department has tossed their hat into the statewide First Responder Photo Challenge: Light Ohio Blue.
According to the Light Ohio Blue website, the photo challenge is a celebration of Ohio’s public safety agencies and the communities they serve.
The challenge is held each year in remembrance of the September 11 attacks and the heroic response of the first responders.
“This friendly statewide competition invites agencies to showcase their vehicles in creative, pride-filled photos,” the website says.
Community Services Supervisor Lauren Boyd took the photo that showcases the department’s therapy K-9, Bo, and his cruiser.
“We’ve done the contest for several years, the department has made it tradition,” Boyd said.
Boyd chose to photograph Bo because he is new to the team and represents four pillars the department is hoping Bo will help encourage in others.
Here are 4 simple ways Bo leads with kindness—and so can you:
1. Love your neighbors. – Bo loves and spreads kindness to everyone!
2. Prioritize service over self. – Help others!
3. Be your best. – When you are your best, you will encourage those around you to be their best!
4. Change your world. – Bo is making a difference, one sniff at a time!
Join us in spreading this message! When you see Bo in the community, snap a picture and share with us how you #LoveLikeBo
Sharing the hashtag, #lovelikebo, when someone demonstrates one of the pillars is a, “fun way to get the community involved,” Boyd said.
From September 11–30, 2025, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photos. The photo contests hopes to bring together communities from across Ohio in support of police, fire, EMS, and other public safety professionals.
As of the week of Sept. 24, Grove City Police Department is currently leading in their division with more than 10,000 votes.
