After 23 years of service in the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, Marilyn Reiner was celebrated at her retirement party on Aug. 19. This day was also designated Marilyn Reiner Day by Mayor Richard “Ike” Stage. The mayor also presented Reiner with a Key to the City for her many years of service.

In her time of service, the Grove City Farmer’s Market has developed into one of the largest farmer’s market in the Columbus area. The Chamber has won multiple awards include the Best of the Bus, the CBUS Award and most recently, the Trailerblazer Award from Visit Grove City, for this event. The farmer’s market on average has 80 vendors each week and had a record of 160 vendors applied this year.

“We function as a team, and it takes a team to put on these events,” President and CEO Shawn Conrad said.

Reiner has held a multitude of positions within the chamber, all always encompassing community engagement and membership service.

“She has been able to help these events grow and become the events we see today,” Conrad said.

“Events will not be the same without Marilyn’s touch, especially Arts in the Ally and Farmer’s Market” the proclamation of the Mayor.

It also states that although Reiner is retiring, she will always be a valued member of the community.
