Bound By Books Opens
By Jessica Morrow
Downtown Grove City is gaining a new chapter with the opening of a new bookstore. A cozy shop devoted to books, community, and local voices.
“I’ve always had a passion for books and literacy, and I noticed Grove City didn’t have a new bookstore,” said the store’s owner and sole proprietor, Tessa Schwabeland. “I wanted to create a welcoming space for readers of all ages while contributing to the growth of our downtown community.”
The shop will carry mostly new titles, with a strong focus on fantasy, romance, and children’s books, along with a small but carefully chosen used selection at the checkout counter. Shoppers will also find bookish gifts like bookmarks, stickers, tote bags, and t-shirts.
Schwabeland has also added a local author’s section complete with a full week of local author book signings scheduled during opening week.
“I’ll be featuring local authors’ books and plan to schedule signings with them. Supporting small and local businesses is very important to me, and I’ve already started collaborating with others downtown to help bring more people to Grove City,” Schwabeland said.
Readers can catch local author Taryn Paige on Oct. 6 at 4.pm. and local sports author Steve Basford at 6 p.m.
