Ralph Brinkmann visited Bark Bash with his golden retriever, Trooper. Trooper enjoyed the Ice Castle at the event. Several ice castle locations were sponsored by local businesses to offer a reprieve from the heat to visiting pups.
Elsa traveled to Bark Bash from Bellefontaine, about an hours drive. Her favorite activity was swimming in the Darby Bend Lakes with other dogs.
Deputy Gunnell and K-9 Cody showcase how they search for an item. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office brought four dogs to show their skills in dual purpose missions. The presentation was available to Bark Bash visitors on Aug. 23.
Cheddar took a ride through the many Bark Bash vendor rows at the annual event held at Prairie Oaks Metro Park.
Bumble of Bumble’s Backyard got to enjoy some water time while her parents worked to promote their business that features Ohio’s first dog park plus bar and coffeehouse in Franklinton. They invite all dog lovers to join them at Puppypalooza on Sept. 3 with the Columbus Clippers.

Dogs and owners came from far and wide, some from as far as Bellefontaine, Ohio, to attend the annual Bark Bash at the Prairie Oaks Metro Park on Aug. 23
Pups enjoyed several activities including canoeing or paddle boarding with their humans and jumping into Darby Bend Lakes, although not many owners did this.
Pups and owners caught stage performances by Performance Dogs of Ohio and the Franklin County Sheriff’s K-9 unit!
The weather was perfect for the first half of the event, then the sun warmed up and vendors who provided cooling stations like the ice castles were a favorite.

Yappy Hour at Scioto Audobon Metro Park on Sept. 19; 5-8 p.m.
Barktoberfest at Rocky Fork Metro Park on Oct. 16; 4-7 p.m.
Puppy Socialization Hike at Rocky Fork Metro Park on Tuesdays in Sept. and Oct. at 6pm
