The annual photo contest held during the Lithopolis Honeyfest has been expanded. This year photographers will have the option to enter photos into six categories.

The categories are: The original amazon, I’ll BEE back, They work hard for the honey, House-swarming parties, Quit Pollen my leg, and You must be KIDding (a kids-only category).

‘The original amazon’ is inviting photos of honey, beeswax or other hive products. The’ I’ll BEE back’ category invites photos of bees in flight. ‘They work hard for the honey’ should be photos of bees pollinating. ‘House-swarming parties’ invite photos of bee hives and other bee dwellings. The ‘Quit POLLEN my leg’ category is for photos of pollen everywhere.

And lastly, the ‘You must be KIDding’ category invites children 15 and under to submit to any of the categories.

All entries must be submitted by Aug. 24 through the website https://lithopolishoneyfest.com/photography-contest.

The Honeyfest takes place the first weekend in September. Top three winning photographers will receive a ribbon and cash prize.
